About the Hospital
Jinja Regional Referral Hospital is the largest public hospital in Eastern Uganda. It serves as a key referral facility with a bed capacity of over 600, though actual patient numbers often exceed this, with many receiving care under constrained conditions.
Project Background
With funding from USAID, the hospital is implementing a Government-to-Government (G2G) project aimed at transforming Regional Referral Hospitals into centers of excellence in HIV service delivery. The project focuses on:

Improving availability and quality of HIV services

Strengthening healthcare systems for sustainability and accountability

Promoting collaboration, learning, and adaptation throughout the project’s lifecycle
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide clinical treatment and patient management
-
Refer complicated medical cases to the Senior Clinical Officer
-
Work collaboratively with other units to ensure quality healthcare delivery
-
Support the implementation of primary healthcare activities
-
Participate in research and data collection
-
Educate staff, patients, and the community
-
Promote ethical standards and professional conduct
-
Compile and submit regular reports
-
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
-
Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health or equivalent from a recognized institution

Minimum of three (3) years working experience as a Clinical Officer in a reputable healthcare institution

Must be registered with the relevant professional council
-
Must hold a valid practicing license
